Guaro town Malaga Andalucia

Guaro was an independent town in 1614 by order of King Felipe IV, and on September 28th, 1648 he granted Guaro to D. Juan Chumacero de Sotomayor y Carrillo, Caballero de Santiago, and he received the title of Earl, a title that his descendants still have today.

Today, the economy of Guaro is based on  hospitality and construction and on  agriculture, mainly the cultivation of the almonds. The town is the first collector of Spain, despite the fact that its municipal area has just over 22 square kilometers.
