APRIL 2008
Hi All,
And welcome to the April Newsletter.
What a month we have had, with so many of you deciding to leave the UK behind and start your new life here in sunny Spain – and it has been sunny!! The warm wind known as the “Terral” has sent temperatures soaring to levels more commonly associated with June and July, with a maximum of 27.6º and night-time minimum of 17º.
Some of the “brave” clients we had staying in the guesthouse last weekend wanted to have a quick dip in the pool. Still a little chilly for me to take the plunge but I was informed that as they had left London in temperatures of around -4°, this was a heatwave for them!
Easter Sunday was the first BBQ in the Giles´ household for 2008. It was glorious. Starting at 1pm and finishing at 9pm, much eating and drinking was enjoyed. We are already planning the next one!!
This month starts the Romeria fiestas in the neighbouring villages. All taking a different weekend to celebrate and these continue until the end of May. You will find all the colourful traditional gypsy caravans, all expertly restored, rolling on down to the picnic areas to set up their camp sites. Families take along their BBQs and their huge paella pans, which provides the food for the two day event.
Come on over for a short break to be a part of the festivities and begin searching for THAT perfect place in Andalucia.

Barbie España
The new ‘Barbie España’ is being presented at the Seville feria which starts at midnight on Monday 7th April. The new version of this popular doll wears a fabulous Andalucian red and black dress with elegant lace ruffles and comes complete with a traditional ‘peineta’ comb in her hair, a ‘mantilla’ which is a lace shawl draped over the comb and hanging down her back and a fan. Barbie España should be very popular with both young girls and collectors.
