JANUARY 2008
Hi,
Welcome to the first newsletter of 2008.
We are all relaxed after the Christmas break and ready for the rush of prospective purchasers, looking for that perfect place in the sun. New year, new beginnings. Buy now and move in for Spring!
A few families in the village decided to celebrate Christmas together. What a fantastic time we all had. The 14 adults and 9 children enjoyed a BBQ feast, with various joints of meat, salads and jacket potatoes, finishing off with the traditional platter of mince pies and cream. As the evening wore on, just to take the chill off, we lit the patio heater and partied on through the night. The New Year was a giggle, skiing and snowboarding. We drank champagne and ate the 12 grapes on the stroke of midnight.
Come and join us for a 4 day/3 night viewing trip. We can book your flights and accommodation, call now for further information.
Keep up-to-date with all the new properties and watch out for our exciting 2008 promotions on the website www.inlandandalucia.com.

Good News for Purchasers
Spanish owners are now accepting that prices have taken a down-turn for 2008 and are being more sensible with what to expect for their properties. We have been advising owners that their asking prices are far too high and many are now reducing their prices. The credit squeeze may be on in the UK, but with Spanish banks still offering mortgages at lower interest rates, now is the time to invest in Spain!
The Fast Train to Malaga!
Well, we arrived at Santa Ana just outside Antequera with an hour to spare so that we could have a coffee and a good look around the new station. A very impressive high modern building with lots of glass, plenty of parking and cafeteria. The Madrid-Malaga high speed train was on time, leaving Santa Ana at 3.05pm, we were stepping off the train in Malaga at 3.30pm. The train was comfortable, roomy and the journey was very smooth. It would have been good to know just how fast we were travelling, but the countryside flew past. There are 8 tunnels on this short journey which take up just over half of the time, but at other times the scenery is fantastic. The long-distance travellers have the benefit of a movie and there is a restaurant car for refreshments.
As it was the first week of the new high-speed train on this particular route we were given commemorative gifts by RENFE, pens, pencils and a bookmark in the shape of the train with the month and year on the reverse.
The new station in Malaga is handy for the town centre and we were soon enjoying a guided tour by horse and carriage around the town. We followed this with a typically Spanish meal before it was time to join the throngs for the switching on of the lights. Wow, what a terrific sight, well worth the journey and just the perfect ending to a fantastic day! SR
Mr World
The most handsome man in the world is from Malaga!! He is 25 year old Juan Garcia Postigo and he beat a field of 55 participants from all over the world.
In and around the Spanish towns and villages…………………
Campillos
This small Spanish town has a population of just under 8000 and is well located for the Costa del Sol, Granada, Cordoba and Seville. The new high speed train station at Santa Ana, Anequera is just a short drive away, as is the lagoon at Fuente de Piedra and El Chorro with its lakes and fantastic walks.
Since Roman times the town has been famous for its cattle farming and its leather production and there are lots of factory shops in the area where leather goods can be purchased. The weekly Tuesday market is also a good source of bargains. Horse riding is popular here and you can take lessons at the local stables, and/or arrange trekking.
We have a beautiful villa for sale on the outskirts of Campillos, VL470, 150m˛ build, 450m˛ plot with fruit trees, tropical gardens and pool. 264.000 euros. Click for further details.
Fuengirola Zoo
Fuengirola zoo has become one of the top zoos in Spain, boasting 295,000 visitors last year. This was an increase on 2006. The zoo is modern, extremely popular and although it's in the middle of the town, this tardis-like attraction is surprisingly large and very well designed.
Seville Marathon 2008
On 1st February 2008 the streets of Seville will be filled with runners weaving their way around the city as they take part in the annual marathon. The event starts and finishes at the famous Olympic stadium which is 3km to the north of the city with the first runners leaving at 9.00am. The course (26.1 miles) crosses the Guadalquivir river at 4 different points
You can be sure that the pre-race and post-race parties will be as enjoyable as usual in this fantastic city.
